Does anyone have strategies for me for bidding on a two-night hotel stay in the Toronto Downtown North zone?

The dates are Sun and Mon nights 23 and 24 Jan 2010. I must have the same hotel for both nights.

I can take any hotel in this zone of 3* and up.

The goal is the lowest price up to $70 and I am not picky about hotel rating as long as its 3* and above.

I have 2 weeks to bid.

Thanks in advance!

If you must have both nights in the same hotel, I'd certainly suggest bidding both nights together. In terms of a 4* property, I think $70 may be enough for a 4* in this zone, although it could fall a bit short and may require $75-85. On the lower end, $50-60 may be enough for a 3* in this zone. These don't seem like busy dates.

With a little time on your side, i would bid as follows:

At the 3* level you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 3* Downtown North...

Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $50

If the above is rejected wait 24 hours and try $55/$60... if that is rejected wait 24 hours and try again with $65/$70.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for all the help and advice here on BB. I used the PRICELINE link.

I booked this two-night stay on the same day as a 1 night stay within the same month, got the same hotel.

3* Toronto (Downtown North) Ramada Plaza on a Sunday and Monday night, January 23-25, 2011.

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$59.00

Subtotal: US$118.00

Taxes & Fees: US$24.28

Total Charges: US$142.28

The bidding history as follows:

@ 2 weeks before stay:

Downtown Toronto North 4* $51

3.5* $53

Toronto East (re-bid zone) 3.5* $57

3* $58

unsuccessful

12 days before stay:

Downtown Toronto North 3.5* $55

3* $57

Toronto East (re-bid zone) 3* $59 accepted

I was really hoping for the 3.5* Delta Chelsea, as it is closer to the hospital and had better reviews, but on the bright side the indoor parking at Ramada is inexpensive for the area. Retail price on Expedia would have been $99 per night and Hotwire's least expensive 3* option was $79, so I'm happy with the price.

If I had to do it again, I may have waited a day as I had bid on the same parameters for a single night earlier in the month and got the same hotel at the same price. Maybe I might have been offered a different 3* later in the week.

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding :)

Sorry to see that you didn't hit the Delta but we hope you're satisfied with the outcome and will like the Ramada Plaza.

Enjoy your stay.
