For 1/14 - 1/15/11, Hotwire is showing a 4-star San Diego (Coronado) hotel at $185/night:

resort, beachfront, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, hi-speed internet, golf.

Recommended by 100% of travellers.

Is this really the Hotel Del Coronado? It seems likely that it's that instead of the Loews Coronado, which you have listed only as oceanfront and near beach, but I haven't seen anyone listed as getting the Hotel Del for a while.

Thanks for your help! I used your HOTWIRE link to search and will do it again if I decide to go ahead and book.

Thanks.

Hello,

I checked again and got:

4-star hotel in Coronado

This hotel features the following amenities:

Resort

Resorts offer a complete destination experience. Facilities generally include a spa or fitness center, one or more swimming pools, and superior dining options. Depending on location, recreational activities may include water sports, golf, tennis or skiing. Coastal resorts usually boast ocean views or beachfront access. Note: A resort fee may be charged. Beachfront

Property is located on the beach. Fitness Center

Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Pool(s)

Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. Restaurant(s)

Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary. Business Center

Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply. High-speed Internet Access

Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply. Golf Nearby

Property is located within walking distance or a short drive of at least one golf course; an extra charge typically applies. Tennis Nearby

Property is located within walking distance or a short drive of at least one tennis court; an extra charge typically applies. Spa Services

Guests have access to a spa facility or spa services; an extra charge typically applies.

I think this is most likely the Hotel Del, but by the time they add on their taxes and fees it is not much lower than the AAA rate, and that guarantees that it's the Del. I may skip Hotwire this time (I don't want to end up at the Loews Coronado - it's nice but I've been there before and want something different) and see if someone goes for this in the future and can confirm that the Del is back on Hotwire.

Thanks for all the info,

Elke
