travlgrl Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 I'm looking at 2 different properties for 2 adults and 2 children, 04/23-25:3* Center City West: smoke free, fitness, pool, restaurant, business, internet, 95% customer satisfaction $1093* Center City East: breakfast, pool, 80% customer satisfaction $109Any idea?
thereuare Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 The amenities of the City Center West property match previous reports for the Sheraton City Center so that would be my best guess for this one, although i have my doubts. NOTE that the star rating shown by HOTWIRE for this property (3.5/5.0) doesn't match the current rating for the Sheraton City Center (3.0/5.0)... this doesn't exclude this property from being the Sheraton though since the TA information shown by HOTWIRE is not updated in real time (only about once per month) so the TA info may have changed since HOTWIRE's last update. I'll also add that the HOTWIRE reviews for this property seem a little 'too good' if this is actually the Sheraton City Center. Lastly, these amenities are fairly common for a 3* city hotel so there are other possibilities as well... perhaps the Sheraton University City Hotel with the addition of a new Smoke Free icon and downgraded from the previously reported 3.5* level?? :)The City Center West property has not yet been reported tot he board or identified and i don't have any insight as to which property this one may be.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. travlgrl Posted January 6, 2011 Author Report Posted January 6, 2011 As a matter of fact, I already have a cancellable reservation at the Sheraton City Center for $110 plus tax per night but, as you say, I'm not thrilled with the hotel from the reviews, and the location is not the best. They even had a non-refundable offer of $175 with tax for 2 nights. Very good I think, but again not thrilled with the hotel and didn't want to commit now. I guess I'll wait to see if something else comes out. I'll let you know what I decide.

AaronJB Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 My guess in this case would be the Crowne Plaza.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
travlgrl Posted January 23, 2011 Author Report Posted January 23, 2011 I was expecting you would say the Crowne Plaza. But, do you think there's a slight chance this could be the Club Quarter? I would like to avoid it and would rather wait booking now if it's a possibility. I also checked pages from last year and looks like the Crowne Plaza used to be at Center City East. So the areas have changed lately?
AaronJB Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Looking at the zone map, it would appear that the Crowne Plaza now falls within the shaded zone for Center City West.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
travlgrl Posted February 25, 2011 Author Report Posted February 25, 2011 Just wanted to let you know that I decided to go with Last Minute Travel for this leg of our trip, and got the Holiday Inn Historic District for $86. I used the tip to find out the hotel's name before buying. It was showing as a 3* in Old City. Hotwire was showing the same hotel for $107. Very happy with the price and location. I did use the HOTWIRE link for all my previous searches. Thank you.
