As a follow-up (I don't want to post these stays as new topics as they took place months ago), I stayed at the Sheraton Delfina twice this past September, both times I paid $91 a night.

Very nice hotel, especially for a Sheraton. I've also stayed at the Hyatt Century Plaza for a similar price, but I absolutely love staying in Santa Monica. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Pier from the Delfina, and about a 3 minute walk to Shutters on the Beach. My only complaint is that the room i received during my second stay (which luckily was only one night) was very small, and considerably tinier than my first room. It was at the end of a hall and almost seemed like a "Priceline Room" that some have complained about in the past for other hotels.

Nonetheless, I highly recommend it as a hotel (and I would say that it's nicer than many 4* hotels I've stayed in in other cities).

So they rejected $89 two days ago, they rejected $110 yesterday and rejected $130 today.

Looks like it has nothing to do with the amount you offer. The discounted price is either offered it's not offered. I guess the hotel must be booked up.

Hi,

Thanks for your input, but I'm sorry I don't understand. This thread is about whether or not you can reserve the Sheraton Delfina for $89...That's a very important and very specific subject. Why would you want people to spread this subject over 20 or so different threads, mixing them up with all the other hotels? Wouldn't that make it extremely difficult for people to follow?

No, this thread is about somebody who did reserve the Sheraton Delfina for 1/15-1/16. Rates are data specific, so their ability to do so may have little to do with your ability to book a 4* hotel for this price for your own stay. As well, even if you are successful, it may be a different 4* hotel than the one represented in this thread.

Your rejected bid is pertinent info for anyone looking for information for this area for your specific dates (1/31-2/4). If another user was looking to stay in this area during this date range too, how would they know to look in this thread to learn about your failed bids and perhaps use that information in developing their own bidding strategy?

If you posted your unsuccessful attempts in its own thread, and kept that thread updated with your progress, it would be easy for other people to follow along with regard to your progress, failure, and final decision for this specific stay. If you ultimately used PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, we'd then also be able to edit the topic title of that thread to reflect your win and have it appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.

While we're always open to new ideas and improvements (via PM), but over the years we've found that a system of one win/stay per thread works best and helps keep the board better organized.
