grram1 Posted April 12, 2005 Report Posted April 12, 2005 Planning our Summer trip from So. Cal. to both BC and Alberta Canada. It took several failed bids over a 2-week process, but we ended up getting the Summit Lodge and Spa in Whistler for 2 nights on a bid of $85/night. The best price I could find on this hotel elsewhere (aaa, Expedia, hotel's website, etc.) was for $130.11/night. Hotwire has the same hotel listed as a 3 1/2* at $97/night (don't ask how I know... took some research). Hope this helps.George

grram1 Posted April 12, 2005 Author Report Posted April 12, 2005 We are staying in Whistler at the Summit Lodge and Spa for 2 nights, July 20-22. No lower bids were made on the day of the sucessful bid (there is only 1 area to chose, so no "free" 3* re-bids were possible, however you can chose "resort" and then if that doesn't work you can chose "4*" if you're looking for multiple bids on the highest rated proerties). the highest previous bid I made on a 3* was $75, then I had to wait the 72 hours before I sucessfully re-bid $85 for a 3*. Total cost for 2 nights after taxes/fees was $197.44 ($27.44 in tax/fees).
