kaysmom Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 traveling from 1/7 - 1/13/11, looking for 4* (or 5*) in West Hollywood/Beverly Hills/Brentwood. Wondering if I should bid for the 6th-8th first (weekend) and then hope to get the add on days? Or bid for weekday and then hope to add on weekend?
thereuare Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 You'll only be offered the option to add nites to your stay for as many nites as your original reservation... so if you intended to only bid for 2 weekend nites, you would then only be able to try adding an additional two nites. (it would be possible to bid 1/7-1/10 and then try to add 1/10-1/13... or vice-versa) Also note that even if offered the opportunity to try to add nites to your reservation, it's not guaranteed that you'll be able to do so for the same price. When trying to extend your stay one of three things can happen:1) accepted at the same price and you've extended your stay2) told there is availability but at a higher price... you then have the option to either accept or reject their counter-offer3) your informed there there is no availability and PRICELINE won't be able to extend your stay at allI would likely bid for the complete stay (at least at first) since if there is a price difference between the weekend and midweek nites, there is a low chance of you being accepted at the same price for the higher priced nites... unless you have no issue changing hotels mid-stay. Although at the moment i don't think SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID would results in any/much additional savings. What is your budget for this stay? kaysmom Posted December 30, 2010 Author Report Posted December 30, 2010 Both budget and willingness to move are flexible for this stay. I think i will try the whole trip and see what I come up with. Still have time to try again if all is rejected. Thanks for your reply, I didn't realize that the stay could only be doubled if offered extension.
