nahnunmike Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Hello everyone I am new to the forums as I am turning 21 six days from now.Destination is Las VegasDate: looking for 1/20 - 23rd So 3 nightsPrice Range: $100 to $200 **** $200 is like MY MAXIMUM LIMIT and I pretty much don't want to have to spend $200 a night =(Looking for 5* ITS A MUST HAHA NEED TO HAVE A BLAST!I am new to the better bidding, and these forum stuff so please help out.I found MGM signature for almost $400 for 3 nights for a junior suite, but i want to be in a hotel on the strip.I've been reading some topics, stating north side of the strip has majority of the 5*???Please help!!!Thanks a lot.- Mike
thereuare Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messages. You can likely get a 5* hotel in the North Strip zone in the $160-$175 range... or a hotel in the South Strip zone (for example the Aria for ~$110-$125 or so). Do you need to be in the North Strip zone or is the South Strip zone acceptable as well? If both are acceptable, is your goal whichever has the lower price?Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.PS- Happy Birthday! nahnunmike Posted January 5, 2011 Author Report Posted January 5, 2011 Well i read on the forums that majority of the 5* hotels are in the north side?but i'm looking for a nice 5* hotel to stay in, price matters as wellNorth or south doesn't matter, but as long as it's on the strip.Want to have a memorable 21'st b-day celebration in vegas LOL
nahnunmike Posted January 6, 2011 Author Report Posted January 6, 2011 quick question, if you bid on HOTWIRE and you get a room... can you rebid again? or is that the room you are stuck with?cause i have not tried it yet...
thereuare Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 There is no bidding on HOTWIRE... they show the price (but not the hotel name) and you decide if you want to purchase it or not. If you're asking if once you learn the name of the hotel you can turn it down, the answer is 'no'... once you purchase the hotel you own the reservation and it is non-refundable, non-cancellable, and non-changeable.See this thread which gives an overview of the similarities, and differences, between PRICELINE and HOTWIRE: I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire Before.Would the Aria be an acceptable property? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. OlgaLA Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 It is a great hotel but rememeber to budget the $25 daily resort fee into your budget...$75Also...as a Vegas newbie plan on a tipping budget because that is something newbies forget about. For Valet, cocktail girls, etc. Vegas ia a great city in general but tipping matters. You want to see your waitress...tip her! I also suggest using the first name of whomever you are speaking to...they are given name badges and using them CAN and usually for me does get better treatment...I've been upgraded by just being polite....also try the $20 trick for a room upgrade and mention it is your first 21 b-day...If you decide to club/hotel hop late at night (or some busy days) and drive sometimes hotels won't let you valet unless you are a hotel guest but with some finesse, a smile, and a "we are dining here" you should get in. VALET, unless you REALLY want to waste your time navigating horrible huge parking maze complexes that are really for cheapskates or locals . Lastly, Make sure your guys dress to impress...bouncers can be hard on large groups of guys...They won't let you in unless you look sharp and even then be prepared to wait...you're so money!
