djmurfster Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Bid $85 for 3star Hotel in Ft Lauderdale North Beach area for Friday, Jan 7, 2011. Bid accepted by Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six as reported back to us they had upgraded us from a 3Star request to a 4Star Win. I was a happy happy bidder. But, aaargh! I actually needed TWO nites. PRICELINE immediately offered me another nite pre-check-in or post-checkout for same price, so I gratefully accepted the extra nite post-checkout. But, the offer was a kind of tease, as Priceline actually resubmitted the $85 bid for 2nd nite and lo, came back to me saying it could not find such a deal for Saturday nite, Jan 8, 2011 at same hotel. But, being PRICELINE, it didn't leave me completely hanging, instead, it said it could offer me Saturday nite at $165 -- with the caveat they could not guarantee it'd be same room as Friday nite but would be same hotel. Oy! Eventually, I relented and took the 2nd nite at higher price and the new receipt for the two nites printed out saying my Hyatt Reency Pier Sixty-Six deal was a 3Star deal. Cheers,DJMurfster / FL-Bound this Wkend from KYP.S. Also, I hope I used the BetterBidding link. It was surely my intention but I was disrupted in my bidding enough to make a date mistake. I've used PRICELINE for over 10years, my first mistake like this.
