Priceline Hotel: 4* Ft Lauderdale (Beach) Hyatt Regency Pier 66

Bid $85 for 3star Hotel in Ft Lauderdale North Beach area for Friday, Jan 7, 2011. Bid accepted by Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six as reported back to us they had upgraded us from a 3Star request to a 4Star Win. I was a happy happy bidder.

But, aaargh! I actually needed TWO nites. PRICELINE immediately offered me another nite pre-check-in or post-checkout for same price, so I gratefully accepted the extra nite post-checkout. But, the offer was a kind of tease, as Priceline actually resubmitted the $85 bid for 2nd nite and lo, came back to me saying it could not find such a deal for Saturday nite, Jan 8, 2011 at same hotel.

But, being PRICELINE, it didn't leave me completely hanging, instead, it said it could offer me Saturday nite at $165 -- with the caveat they could not guarantee it'd be same room as Friday nite but would be same hotel.

Oy! Eventually, I relented and took the 2nd nite at higher price and the new receipt for the two nites printed out saying my Hyatt Reency Pier Sixty-Six deal was a 3Star deal.

P.S. Also, I hope I used the BetterBidding link. It was surely my intention but I was disrupted in my bidding enough to make a date mistake. I've used PRICELINE for over 10years, my first mistake like this.

Sorry to hear of your date error, but if this is your first mistake in 10 years i'd consider yourself very lucky... most of us who bid regularly have at least a few errors under our belts.

While the second nite cost a bit more than you expected, glad to see you're happy with the hotel and this should work well for your plans.
