Hello,

Awesome site and I think we are finally ready to give price line a shot from what I am reading...

But before we do I just want to ask a couple questions. From what I see we want a North Strip 5* from Oct 4th 2011 to Oct 11th 2011

From that I see these are the only hotel options... ( I understand that *ratings can change and hotels can be added or removed at any time.... But so far I haven't seen any other wins or suggestions)

5* Palazzo REVIEW

5* Venetian REVIEW

5* Wynn REVIEW

If this is "correct" then its awesome... I'm good with any of these hotels and from the win calender it looks like $100/night might be a very real option...?

Also the resort fees, Are these charged per day even if you don't use the pools etc?

When you check prices online for LV hotels I don't see a resort fee in the list just taxes.. Do they charge this after or include it in the price..?

Thanks!!

Love the site and will use the PRICELINE link when its time!

In addition to the 5* hotels you mention above, the Encore would be a possibility in this area as well, although it has never been reported to the board as a 5* hotel in the Strip North zone thru PRICELINE (not to be confused with the North Strip Condo zone which then adds Trump to the mix)

Resort fees are in addition to your PRICELINE / HOTWIRE purchase and payable directly to the hotel, and are charged per day even if you don't use the facilities (as most list other items besides the pool which the resort fee covers, although granted, most of these items were 'free' and included in the room rate just a few years ago :) )

Still plenty of time for your stay, but based upon current prices $100 for your dates doesn't seem that feasible for a 5* hotel in the North Strip zone, imo.

Awesome, Thanks for the info!

So it looks like:

5* Palazzo

5* Venetian

5* Wynn

5* Encore

*should be the only available hotels on priceline for North strip 5*?

When I click onto the bidding calender it shows the dates I requested for 2010 as booked for around $100/night

Obviously prices will change but am I reading that right? the dates I would like to book for 2011 were booked in 2010 for $100/night?

Also I see people posting lists that priceleine provides of the amenities of the hotel.. I can't seem to locate this on the site..

Thanks!!!

Vegas is a city where weekend rates can be 2x-3x mid-week rates... the $100 rates you're referencing were for midweek nites in Octbober 2010... if you look at the weekend dates of your stay (in 2010) you'll see the 5* hotels were going for closer to the $150-$200 range.

HOTWIRE is the service that shows the amenities before the purchase... not PRICELINE. See this thread for a further discussion of the similarities, and differences, between the two services: I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire.

Feel free to ask any additional questions the above information raises and/or how you'd like to proceed once you're ready to move forward for this stay.

Ok I get ya,

I looked on that page but didn't see this info. How does the per night $ off I give vs the week day and weekend rate works?

Does it balance out? If week day acceptable rate is say $100 a night and weekend is $150... In theory would they perhaps take $115 a night..? ( Prices aren't exact but do you get what I am saying?)

I think I might give it a shot tonight to see what happens... :)

It used to be that your bid needed to be enough to cover the most expensive nite of your stay (in your example above you'd need to bid $150 since that is the most expensive nite and you would be charged $150 for each nite of your stay)... but as technology has changed most hotels now average the rate and that is the 'bid threshold' you need to be above to succeed.
