berbarito Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 Hello,I made several reservations via Priceline and want to know if breakfast is included.. It lists 'breakfast room' as amenity but I am not sure if this means I can have breakfasts..Thankx
Romelle Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 It varies by hotel. You are more likely to get included breakfasts at the lower star levels. Also more likely to get breakfasts in Europe than the US.My understanding is that if the hotel offers breakfast to everybody, you get it. If it is only part of selected packages you almost never get it.Do ask though. Sometimes they surprise you. And if it is not included, it can be pretty expensive.I'd guess breakfast would not be included at a Hilton.Romelle

berbarito Posted January 3, 2011 Author Report Posted January 3, 2011 Thank you for your replyI don't exactly remember my bidding history so I haven't posted them. Is it okay to just post what I know? Also, I have been wondering about your PRICELINE link. When I click on it, I am redirected to this page where it says 'Enter a city to get started'. Do I have to search using that box? When I do it, I am given a price that is already set. Or, do I go to other pages from the link?Thank you.
berbarito Posted January 3, 2011 Author Report Posted January 3, 2011 I'd guess breakfast would not be included at a Hilton.RomelleMany thanks, I also think breakfast is not included at a Hilton.
berbarito Posted January 3, 2011 Author Report Posted January 3, 2011 I originally planned to spend two nights in Venice, but I have booked the first only with this priceline win at the Venice Hilton Molino Stucky for $120.I tried to extend my stay but got rejected. It seems like I cannot try extending anymore.I am considering if it is better to still bid for the second night. I am worried that I get another hotel which means I have to move out on my 2nd day. Hilton Molino is already located 1 hour bus ride from the city center. My next stop is Rome so I might try bidding a hotel there for the 2nd night.
Romelle Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Thank you for your replyI don't exactly remember my bidding history so I haven't posted them. Or, do I go to other pages from the link?Thank you.The dates, hotel name and location, star level and winning bid amount are the basics. If you are unsure of those details, you can go back into your Priceline history and pick them up. Beyond that - the last bid before you were successful can also be helpful to other bidders. Counter-offers and the other areas you were bidding is a bonus. The full price paid can be nice to know. Reviews of the hotel after the stay are appreciated by others. All these last things are just "frosting".I'm not sure on your other question. There are some smaller towns that don't have hotels offered on the bid side of Priceline, but do have on the retail side. If you end up on the retail side, you usually can find "Name Your Own Price" somewhere there and clicking that will get you back to the bidding area. If you use the little blue box up in the right corner of this page, and fill out the city and dates, that is the most direct route to the bidding area (assuming the town has bidding available).Romelle
thereuare Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 With your first bid for both nites being rejected there was a very high probability your attempt to extend the stay would be rejected. Is your option now heading to Rome a day early OR booking the Hilton direct thru 'non-opaque' means for the additional nite? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
