Priceline Hotel: 4* Bangkok (Siam Square) Courtyard

Hey Everyone,

Gave Priceline another try after a few successful stays in Singapore.

I bid on the 4* Siam Square location hoping to the the Marriott Courtyard hotel which is not bad. Close to Central World and Grand Hyatt hotel so I know it is quite comfortable and modern looking property.

It is not as easy to bid in Bangkok as you can not use the "bid in different location" trick as you can in Singapore and some other ciites to get more bids in one day.

Yesterday I tried at $45 and lost. Today I tried $50 for one night and the bid was not accepted but it gave the option to increase to $65 and get another free bid. I knew I was close but didn't want to pay extra as I knew $55 was the sweet spot. I closed Priceline and then logged in again via the PRICELINE link in this website and bid $55 for 2 nights. It won't let you unless you close the window as it will want you to bid for 5* or 3* in addition to the orginal 4* bid.

I bid just one night first to make sure that I did not get the Holiday Inn which is not nearly as good as the Courtyard. Also stay away from bidding the 5* hotel in Siam Square location. The Pullman is not bad, but you it is a toss up between winning the Pullman or the Amari Watergate. The Amari is NO WAY considered a 5* hotel.

My bid of $55 per night was accepted for 1/14 - 1/16/2011 at the Marriott Courtyard (Siam Square Area). I then used the option to extend my stay another 2 nights for $55 per night which was also accepted. Not a bad deal for this property.

Expedia Price = $120 per night

Anyway, $55 for a newer hotel is a good value in Bangkok or most major cities.
