schren Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Hi everyone,My max budget is 130$/night without tax. I'm looking for a 4* hotel in the following zones:White House, Convention Center (at least I think these are the best zones to be centrally located - any advice is really appreciated)I already asked this in my NYC post, but maybe not everyone is reading the NYC forum: As I'm traveling with a friend we'd like 2 separate beds if possible. I understand you cannot chose that option on priceline, but it is possible to contact the hotel after your winning bid and kindly ask. Is that correct? Any experience on how "considerate" hotels are when you're a priceline customer? So what should my bidding strategy look like? Of course I'll use your PRICELINE link to start bidding! Thanks in advance for any help/advice
thereuare Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 You can see my answer to your bedding question in my reply to your NYC hotel thread... there is also a related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.The two zones above are often bid in this area, but so is the Dupont Circle zone... is this zone acceptable as well or did you want to first stick with the other two zones? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. schren Posted January 1, 2011 Author Report Posted January 1, 2011 If possible I'd like to stick with the 2 zones. :)
thereuare Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 Rates are very high for these dates and i don't think $130 is likely to get you very close, but if you want to give it a shot:At the 4* level you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* White House and Convention Center...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
