Priceline Hotel: 5* Amsterdam (City Centre-Museum Quarter) Grand Hotel Amrath

I just used your link for PRICELINE again and successfully got this 5* hotel after struggling with bidding since the last few days. It's very very hard to bid 4 to 5* hotel in AMS city centre during the Flower Parade (April 16th,2011). I first got 4* NH Amsterdam Centre for April 12-14th, 2011 for USD85 plus taxes, 2 rooms. And I have tried up to USD120 per night for a 4* hotel in city centre for 2 nights April 14th-16th without luck. I even went down to 3* for USD75 - still no luck.

When I tried 5* at USD100 I got counter offer of USD130 in city centre. But I didn't take it since I was 90% sure it would have turned out to be the infamous 5* NH Barbizon Palace.

I also tried up to USD140 - this time counter offer USD175. I declined.

This morning I said, OK, I can't get a 4* hotel at USD120, why not USD145 for 5*? (worst case would be NH Barbizon Palace I am prepared but high chance for a better 5*). And, I got lucky!

It's very expensive and inventory is very low for the exact time from April 14th towards Easter! So good luck, bidders! I had 3 sleepless nights! I am so glad it's over now! :)

I read that someone is trying to bid for a 4* in city centre from April 16-18th, 2011 without luck since a month, even bid up to USD106. Maybe he should try for 5*?

Again, thanks to this website for info! And 3 times I won bids always from using the PRICELINE link. Kind of luck!
