I first bid $39 for Birmingham (Homewood) and they said I could bid again immediately if I changed it to $54. This was too high for me, so I added Birmingham (Inverness) and changed my bid price to $43. This time it was accepted. So I ended up bidding $43 for 1/1/2011 - 1/6/2011 3-3.5* in Birmingham (Homewood) OR (Inverness) and I got Courtyard By Marriott South Colonnade which is in the Birmingham (Inverness) area.

Taxes will be $42.95 and I booked it today (12/27/2010)

On a side note:

I like this area, it is across the highway and down about a mile from the Summit shopping center. There is also a Target on the same road and there is a really good Thai place even called Suran 280 about 1/2 mile down. It usually takes about 15-25 minutes to get downtown from here depending on traffic.
