Hotwire Hotel: Hawaii help

Hi,

First off, let me say I'm a newbie to this sight. I have a question that I can't seem to find in the forums and maybe you could answer it. My husband and I are going to Kauai 3/2/11 to 3/9/11. Looking for where to stay. I've narrowed it down to must be beachfront but without the cliffs (I want sand as opposed to rock)and ruled out North shore. Budget is as always main concern and finding the absolute best bang for my buck is what I'm all about. :) I love bargain hunting! I was really excited to come across this site and try some of the strategies for bidding on pl and hw. However now I am wondering if it is worth my time as HOTWIRE is offering a 4 star Lihue Resort at $123 per night which seems like an awesome deal to me.. So my question is 1)If HOTWIRE offers a what seems to be sale on my dates is it worth my while to try and bid even cheaper? and 2) what is the best way to determine what property this might be? For instance how many 4 star resorts are in the Lihue area?

What are the amenities associated with the Lihue property you're being offered? Keep in mind that if there are more than eight amenities showing you'll need to do the following to see the additional amenities offered:

PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper than HOTWIRE, but the 'problem' is that you're requiring a Beachfront location for this stay, and with PRICELINE there is no way to ensure this... you could receive a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone at the minimum star level you bid, which doesn't guarantee a Beachfront location.
