Hotwire Hotel: 5* Milan Westin Palace Milan

Tried this on Priceline up to $80, gave me a counteroffer of $100, but PRICELINE was charging significantly more taxes and fees than HOTWIRE. It was cheaper to get Hotwire at $99 and pay the minimal taxes and fees. I believe taxes are included in the price in Europe, and so Priceline is just upcharging.

QUESTION: So we are going to be there 3/18-3/25, but decided to go to Barcelona for a few days. When I ran Hotwire for 3/18-3/25, it gave me the Westin at $99 each night. But, now that I've split it up (and I didn't check the pricing of splitting it, assuming it would remain the same because the dates themselves did not change, we just took out 3 nights) and bought the tickets to Barcelona, the price for 3/23-3/25 on HOTWIRE come up as $270. Again, it's still $99 for 3/18-3/25.

I've tried emailing the hotel to see if they can give me the pricing for the last two days directly. Any thoughts anyone? The prices of other hotels didn't change when I broke it up, so it doesn't seem to be an occupancy issue with the city, maybe just with the hotel. I really wanted the same hotel so we could leave our checked luggage for the inbetween days. Any help would be much appreciated.
