smdaa
Used the PRICELINE links.Started a few days back trying to get resort in Humacao, Rio Grande, etc. Went up to $105, adding areas, no dice. Added San Juan 4*, then went to $110, no luck. Added 3.5*, scored Embassy Suites Carolina. Rooms are huge, free breakfast and happy hour, I am happy! Assuming the 14% resort fee will bring the price to $125, which is still a good deal.Addendum: checked for reservation on Hilton site, saw it was for smoking rooms, called the hotel directly (no changes to this rez allowed online) and they switched to non-smoking, added my Hilton Honors number, and put in a request for adjoining rooms. Seems like PRICELINE is risky if nonsmoking is a requirement! we were lucky they had availability. Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your success! I was inside this property a few years back and it's a very nice Embassy Suites with glass elevators looking down onto the interior courtyard... as well as a nicely sculpted pool (although it does sit adjacent to an elevated highway)Glad to see that you're happy with the results and this property works well for your plans... nice that they were able to change the reservation to a non-smoking room. Fortunately most hotels are usually willing to work with you on honoring a non-smoking preference, but there are some which will not make any changes, so this does present a risk when using PRICELINE (although less of a risk then just a few years back as more and more brands/chains go to an all non-smoking format). If a non-smoking room is a need (vs. a want) then HOTWIRE may be an option as many of their offerings will show a Smoke Free icon indicating that all rooms at the property are non-smoking and you can choose one of these to ensure a non-smoking room.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
