Merlin144 Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 Was bidding for a North Lake Tahoe location, and mistakenly thought that there were no 3* establishments in Carson City, NV. I added this during the bidding process and ended up get a (fairly expensive at $131/night) Courtyard Marriott in Carson City, NV. Called Priceline, spoke to a CS rep and her supervisor, explained that I chose a location far from where I needed to go, and got a solid NO NO NO from them, over and over again. (I was very persistent.)I called the Courtyard Marriot Carson City, and they canceled my reservation in 10 seconds.I'm on the phone with Priceline right now - because their TOS says that the hotel can change the reservation restrictions at their discretion, Priceline is saying that they will call the hotel and confirm that they canceled my res, THEN issue me a refund.
Merlin144 Posted December 22, 2010 Author Report Posted December 22, 2010 Disclaimer: This was a mistake bid, I was trying for North Lake Tahoe or Incline Village, NV. I thought* that I saw that Carson City, NV had no 3* hotels, so I thought I could use it to prop my bid ... but I was wrong. Tried 3.5* at $110added North Lake Tahoe area, tried 3.5* at $130lowered to 3* and added Carson City, up to $131 (oops!!)
