Rejected.Added Lincoln Park $70. Rejected.Added Midway $75. Rejected.Added Skokie $85. Rejected.A couple of small conventions are on in town. I felt sure an $85 bid would do it. I guess I'll try again in 3 days.
thereuare Posted April 10, 2005 Report Posted April 10, 2005 What i believe to be the TREMONT is available for $97/nite.HOTWIRE has what i think is the Lenox Suites for $62/nite... reviews are not that great but the location is. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Latitudes Posted April 10, 2005 Author Report Posted April 10, 2005 Thanks for the info. I've not used EasyClickTravel before. Is it similar to Hotwire/Priceline?
thereuare Posted April 10, 2005 Report Posted April 10, 2005 EasyClickTravel has both opaque and non-opaque offerings. The above is an opaque offering, but i have confirmed that it is the Tremont. There is also no cancellation fee (or booking fee) with EasyClickTravel so it serves as a good back-up if you decide to continue to try priceline and/or HOTWIREThe one caveat with EasyClickTravel is that hotels are listed as 'available' or 'on request'... available takes place like any other hotel booking. With On Request they are technically sold-out of their allocation and need to contact the hotel to see if they can get additional inventory at their contract price. On Request is listed as taking 48 hours to hear back, but in reality takes longer. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Latitudes Posted April 10, 2005 Author Report Posted April 10, 2005 Thanks for your help with this. I've booked the Tremont using your link above. This gives me some more breathing space to secure something on Priceline. (We depart in five weeks, but there is so much to organize!)Appreciate your time. :)
thereuare Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 Glad to have helped. At least now you know you have a roof over your head.Keep us updated if you continue to bid and let us know if we can be of additional help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Latitudes Posted April 11, 2005 Author Report Posted April 11, 2005 Will keep you informed if I change my plans, though I've heard many nice reports about the Tremont so I'll probably stay with that.Currently my highest rejected bid on Priceline is $85, so for an extra $12 for the Tremont I think I'm doing OK.Thanks again.
thereuare Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 ... and no booking fee thru EasyClickTravel so actually more like only a $6 difference. :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
