Need help with car rental at Miami

I need a full size car from 12/25 to 12/30 at Miami. When I looked up online, the price was crazy (over 100 dollars/day even for compact car). I have never seen such a high price for car rental. If I bid it on priceline, what price may I expect? Can u help me out? Thanks.

Have you made any decision for your Hotwire Key West stay yet.... please post a reply to that thread with an update as to any decision or current thoughts you have for that leg of your trip.

Given the very high prices for these dates i'm not sure how much of a discount you're likely to see... with rental companies fetching such high prices, it's obviously a time of extremely high demand, so there is little reason for rental companies to discount too deeply if they will likely be able to rent cars on their own at full price. How high much are you willing to pay for a rental for this trip?
