nayola Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Hello:I did not go through the website this time :), but I still wanted to let you all know what I got my room for.My first bid was for $50. I only had the Ft. Lauderdale Airport (FLL) checked and 3-star. That price was declined, but they offered me a rebid if I increased my bid by $15.Instead I rebid, increased my bid to $55, and also checked the Ft. Lauderdale Airport-North (which does not have any 3-star or above properties). My bid for $55 was accepted. The total with taxes and fees came out to $68.97. The rooms are listed at Priceline for $142.00, and the hotel gets a 9.4 out of 10 rating, so I felt I got a good deal!I will be sure to use the betterbidding.com website in the future. I just was so caught up with planning this trip that I forgot to use the PRICELINE link this time.

VioletJohamson Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 WOW if you don't mind me asking - when did you bid this?I tried to bit $75 recently for same region and they rejected my bid. :)Is it by luck?
thereuare Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 VioletJohamson,Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are date specific, based upon (among other factors) hotel occupancy levels... if a hotel has many rooms vacant on a give nite then they are more inclined to offer rooms at a deep discount thru the opaque suppliers; likewise if the hotel is busy and/or nearly full, they may offer no rooms to PRICELINE or HOTWIRE and what is offered may not be discounted very much.If you'd like help with an upcoming stay please start a NEW TOPIC.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. nayola Posted December 16, 2010 Author Report Posted December 16, 2010 WOW if you don't mind me asking - when did you bid this?I tried to bit $75 recently for same region and they rejected my bid. :)Is it by luck?I placed my bid on 12-13-10, and it was accepted on my second attempt. I was only interested in the airport region, so that was what I checked. I'm really surprised that your $75 bid was rejected. Are you trying to get a hotel for the weekend? Maybe that was the difference. My stay is for a Tuesday.
