Priceline Hotel: 3* Los Angeles (Downtown) Kyoto Grand Hotel

Used the links here and tried 3.5* $68 anticipating the Sheraton as per this post:

Rejected. Apparently the $68 rate isn't available Friday aka Christmas Eve.

Dropped down to 3* (which supposedly adds just the Kyoto Grand in this zone) and rebid at $70. Accepted.

I don't know how well I did because I didn't see any Kyoto wins listed here. However, the all in $87.46 compares reasonably with a conventional booking of all in $85.55/night at the Four Points LAX for the previous nights.

I actually favored the Kyoto Grand as I'll be departing from the LA train station in the morning - the station is two to three short blocks from the Kyoto.

I wouldn't read anything into how frequently this hotel is received by others on the board, as a LOT of factors go into which hotel will be won on any given day (hotel occupancy levels, revenue models for the hotel, days of week, etc)
