Priceline Hotel: CAR RENTAL IN FLL FLORIDA

I rent cars in Florida quite often and am usually finding vehicles through Priceline at under $20 per day. Today I was searching for a car from 12/27 until 1/03 and was surprised with no availability! When I looked at Hotwire, cars were going for over $100 a day! What is going on in Florida? Anyone can shed any light on how I can get a reasonable rate for that season...
