ixesse Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 I need help identifying the following hotel I found via the HOTWIRE link on this site.3* Chelsea - Madison Square Garden area Hotel FitnessRestaurantBusiness CenterHigh Speed InternetFrom 4/26 until 4/29For 4 people (2 adults, 2 children)$ 180 per room per nightRecommended in 90 % of Hotwire customer reviews I am new to this forum, so I hope I have given all the necessary details.Thank you in advance!
thereuare Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! These amenities are common for a NYC hotel, but both the Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea and the Holiday Inn Sixth Ave have been reported to the board with this amenity combination, so either of these would be my best guess for this one. HOWEVER, i will note that the tripadvisor rating HOTWIRE shows for this property (4.0/5.0) does not match the TA rating for either of the hotels above, but this doesn't exclude them since the TA info shown by HOTWIRE is not updated in real time (only about once per month) so it's possible that the TA rating has changed since HOTWIRE's last update. Also, while i am seeing this property the price i'm being quoted is much higher ($232/nite)... are you including both 2adults and 2children in your HOTWIRE search? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. ixesse Posted December 11, 2010 Author Report Posted December 11, 2010 Yes, I am including the 2 adults and 2 children. I have once again made the same search, via the HOTWIRE link on this page. I again received the offer of $ 180 per room per night for 4 people.I am considering making this booking. Are the Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea and the Holiday Inn Sixth Ave considered good/clean/recommendable hotels? Thanks again.
thereuare Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 For the most part each gets pretty decent reviews, imo.If you're willing to spend a bit more i'd also consider the 3.5* Chelsea-MSG property for $197/nite (on my search) with: Fitness, Restaurant, Internet icons. My best guess for this one would be the Ramada New Yorker... it used to get poor reviews but it was renovated about a year or so ago and the reviews have been very good since then. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. larambla Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 I have only good things to say about the New Yorker Hotel. I had a corner room, paid about $100/nt on PRICELINE, it was impressive.
