Just booked a room for over MLK weekend, used my groupon $20 for $40, so paid $42/night + $13.33/night from the groupon for a total of 55.33/night, or for me, and effective rate of $48.67. As you can guess, I'm quite happy with how I made out; staying in DC proper is never cheap, and we love the Smithsonian, which we will be very close to. Didn't need anything fancy. Dates are January 14, 2011 - 17. Started with 3.5 stars, adding on areas, including the free rebid of mt. vernon, then switched to 3 star, adding more areas until I got this.
