Do you want to only bid the Downtown North zone at this time or are there other zones which are equally acceptable?

What is your maximum bid for this stay at this point in time?

It looks from your list that the 4* list for downtown Toronto South have great hotels as well, and I am not adverse to staying there either. I see that the market rack rate is at about $ 200 a night so I was hoping to get a room for half that or $ 100.00. Sound right?

PS: Good to see you again youarethere. You helped me out alot with San Juan bookings in November. (2 stays at the Marriott Stellaris & Casino for $ 105.00) Tks again.

A big factor is the day of the week for which you are looking.

Weekends in Downtown Toronto can be had

for a MUCH CHEAPER bid than week days.

Any of the 4* properties in Downtown Toronto South

or Downtown Toronto North are within easy walking distance

or are a short subway ride to most attractions.

The only known 3.5* in those areas is the Delta Chelsa

in Downtown Toronto North. It too is convenient to everything.

For a weekend booking, I would start with a $55.00 bid

on a 4* in Downtown Toronto South

Then I would add Downtown Toronto North

Then I would add the 3.5*

If all were refused I would wait a day and re-bid

or I would up the bid to about $64.00

For a week night, I would start at $64.00 and not be surprised

if I had to get up into the $75.00-$85.00 range.

Most of the time, you'll get a successful bid for $75.00 or less

if you include the Delta Chelsa in your search.

Good luck

I got June 1-3 (Fri and Sat nights)

at the Marriott Bloor Yorkville for $55.00 per night

You could probably get the Sunday night for the same price too.

What I tried to do was to book the hotel for the weekend

and then use the extend a stay option for the Thursday night

It would not give it to me at the same price,

but it would give it to me for just over $100.00.

I did not accept, 'cause I did not really care whether or not I got that night.

But if you're ok with three nights at $55 each and a fourth at 100.00

(works out to an average of $66.25, you could try that.

There is a bit of a gamble though.

It may not extend your stay at all; and it may not do it for $100.00

Depends on how big a deal it is for you to get the June 30 date.

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Hi,

Priceline in Toronto that weekend (our national holiday) just doesn't want to play fair. I went as high as $ 114 with no luck. I even dropped to 3 1/2 stars and still a no. Hotwire seems to be coming close to Priceline here. There is a 4* hotel in Toronto downtown west for $ 131. It has "boutique" under amenities. Looking on your Hotwire list, I think that's the Intercontinental on Bloor St? Am I right? Because if it is, I might just take that because it is within walking distance to my son's wedding locales. If that's within $ 100 of Priceline that $ 100 would be eaten up in taxis. So am I right? Is that the intercontinental on Bloor?

That's not good news for me. I'm looking to stay in the downtown area as well for the June 30-July 3 weekend. I knew there was a lot going on in Toronto during that time, but I was still hoping to get a good deal on a decent hotel for my stay. I look forward to hearing what you end up with. Good luck!

Sorry,

I forgot the full facts. The Hotel is listed as a "Downtown Toronto West area hotel" and is "recommended 95% of customer reviews. It is a 4* Hotel and the cost on Tuesday March 15 is $ 130.00 (USD).

Amenities are:

Boutique hotel, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access.

Hope that helps.

PS: Hey GoldieATX - will let you know as soon as I know. I will probably try Priceline again on Friday.

:) I tried and tried to use Priceline the way you taught me thereuare. I went as high as $120 / night and still got rejected. So when I saw that Hotwire had the Intercontinental Yorkville for $ 143.00 / night and it was walking distance to all my son'e wedding venues we went there. We booked through your platform to get to HOTWIRE and got the Intercontinental for $ 143 / nite - which they claim was an 11% off the rack rates. In checking the Intercontinental I'm guassing that's about right. While I'm glad I got a hotel of value near where I had to be, I really didn't want to spend alot of money for a hotel during my son's wedding.

In any event, Thank you BetterBidding for all your patience and help. You got me the best price possible as usual - you guys are still the best in the business.
