poax46 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 2.5 Las Vegas Strip Vicinity South Moderate PlusNeed help identifying this property...if I look at the Hotel List for this region in the Priceline Hotel List it skips from 3 stars down to 2 stars. Any ideas?
AaronJB Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Unfortunately, no participating hotels at the 2.5* level in this zone have been reported to the board.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 The Desert Rose, Hooters and Hilton Grand Vacation Suites are all in this zone and 2.5* rated by PRICELINE, so any of these would be a possibility, but there could be others as well. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. poax46 Posted December 9, 2010 Author Report Posted December 9, 2010 Hello, I am going to Vegas for New Years: New Years Eve Dec 31 to January 3rd, 2011. Looking to keep hotel below $500 total using priceline for the 3 Nights. As long as I am at a Casino property I am ok, have stayed all over, including Hooters so I have no preference. Really, best deal is my preference. Can you advise a price range to work with as I have failed a few times trying to low ball my way there. Well low ball for New Years I guess. Thanks
bernie79 Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 i would like to know new years winning bid also
AaronJB Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 NYE is quite expensive and is going to effect the overall total (probably significantly.) Additionally, there are a few properties in Vegas that do not offer casinos and there is the risk of getting them when bidding. Do you have a desired zone/s you would like to try for? What have you bid up to so far?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
poax46 Posted December 10, 2010 Author Report Posted December 10, 2010 South Strip Vicinity. 130, 135, 140, 145 a night for 3.5 stars was denied...
thereuare Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 As long as I am at a Casino property I am ok...Is off the strip acceptable? Would seem to me that you'll more likely find lower prices off the strip then on, but you appear to only be bidding the Strip South zone. Are other zone(s) acceptable? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. poax46 Posted December 10, 2010 Author Report Posted December 10, 2010 I do not want to stay off Strip, I really dont want to stay outside south strip as I already have friends at NY/NY. Just want to get it for the cheapest I can.
thereuare Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 How high do you want to bid for a 3.5* before lowering your star rating to a 3*?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. poax46 Posted December 10, 2010 Author Report Posted December 10, 2010 I would like to be around the $150 per night range if I could get it, wondering what your thoughts were.
Romelle Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 Have you checked the hotel web site rates? I bid once on a Las Vegas hotel, working up very gradually. Then found my winning bid to be higher than what I could have done directly with the hotel. Arrggg. It was only $5, but the lesson was worth much more than that. Definitely worth a few minutes to check. There are links to quite a few of the Las Vegas hotels from Las Vegas Checker above on this page, and some more under the Support/Travel Links tab (tab also above).Romelle
thereuare Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 I think $150 will get you close but may fall just a bit short, and your only leaving yourself a $5 window to success from your previously rejected bids. A $160-$175 maximum bid may improve your chances somewhat, but as you have some time, you can try up to $150 first and then decide how you want to play it from there. (SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID may be an option to consider as well)At the 3.5* level you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3.5* Strip South...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $146, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $148, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. nikmin Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Got the Mirage (4*) at 165+taxes ($190 total per night) for 4 nights 12/29 - 1/2. (There will be a $15+tax resort fee per day I believe). So, my net for 4 nights will be $825. I am okay with it, but I beleive it can get down to about $780 at best?I should've started lower - hope someone else tries lower and benefits from this info.Well, it will be a good 4 nights with the family in Vegas for new year!
thereuare Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 Congratulations on your success!Looks like a nice deal... not bad for dates which include New Years Eve. Glad to see you're happy with the results and looking forward to your Vegas trip.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
