Priceline Hotel: Need help please NY from 1/6/11

Under $100 in NYC isn't that common, but fortunately you're going at a very slow time of year so if it will occur this would be a good week for it to happen. But a few questions/comments first...

Are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay?

There are some 'known' hotels which have very small rooms, even by NYC standards (ie- the Hudson Hotel)... would this be an acceptable outcome for a week long stay? Also, at less than 4* there are some hotels in the MTE zone which can be up to a 15 minute walk to the subway... would this be acceptable?

I would focus on the midtown zones and not yet venture into bidding the Central Park Area or the UES or UWS zones.

Let us know regarding the above and we'll take it from there.

Once last comment... HOTWIRE has a 3* hotel in the Chelsea-MSG zone for $114/nite with Breakfast, Fitness, Business and Internet icons. While a bit higher than your $100 maximum bid, it does include breakfast (which perhaps can justify the extra $15/nite) This property matches previous reports for the Holiday Inn Express Madison Square Garden which gets good reviews, so this may be an option too knowing that it has a very good 4.0/5.0 Tripadvisor rating.

Hi, thank you for yor fast answer.

My max rate per night is 100$. I will accept a walk of 15 minutes, thats no problem.

I think 3* is ok for me. When its under 100$ and and 3*.

Midtown Zone for under 100$ an 3* will be great.

If there is a chance to get a 3* for less then 100$ in MSG or ESB it will be ok too.

Ranking:

1. the Price under 100$

2. the area in the middle of ny. good for sightseeing

3. the class -> 3*

I consider MSG and ESB to be part of midtown... it's basically UES, UWS and Downtown which i would advise not bidding until you've exhausted your other options.
