scottishgirl87 Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Hi there,Have never used Priceline (or Hotwire) before and am completely new to this. Looking for a 3.5-4* (preferably 4* if the price is right) in Times Square, Midtown West or Midtown East. Most preferably in the TS area as I'd be more than happy with any of the 3.5-4*'s listed as having previously been won (with exception to maybe the Time Hotel).Dates are the 8th March to 11th March (3 nights) and I require 2 rooms with 2 adults in each. Budget is preferably $600 total for the 3 nights (including taxes and fees etc.). Would love to get under this price but this is the upper budget at this stage. Is this do-able? Any help is greatly appreciated!
thereuare Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! For starters, to be clear... is your budget $600 all-in per room OR total for two rooms? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. scottishgirl87 Posted December 8, 2010 Author Report Posted December 8, 2010 Sorry! $600 all in per room :) Thanks
thereuare Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Your budget won't likely be an issue... $600 per room comes to about a $175 maximum bid once you factor taxes/fees into the equation.Searching HOTWIRE for 2rooms/4adults a 4* hotel is offered in the ESB zone for $152/nite which i'm guessing is the St Giles The Court (although the amenities Fitness, Restaurant, Business, Internet are common for the area). Would this work for your plans or would you prefer to try PRICELINE for a 4* hotel in a different nearby zone or a lower rated hotel for less?Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. scottishgirl87 Posted December 8, 2010 Author Report Posted December 8, 2010 Thanks! Don't really fancy The Court unfortunately. Not completely ruling it out as I've considered it before. My problem is there's not one hotel I'm completely "sold" on so I figured going through Priceline/Hotwire would kind of take the choice out of my hands!I'd be willing to try a lower rated hotel but would really like to stick with TS, MTW, MTE if possible.
AaronJB Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 If you want to "roll the dice", then PRICELINE would be a better option, as there's no way to know which of the possibilities you may get. Is there a particular kind of hotel you are looking for (historic or modern, etc?)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 I'd be willing to try a lower rated hotel but would really like to stick with TS, MTW, MTE if possible. So how do you want to proceed... did you want to try for a 4* up to $175 i the TS, MTW, or MTE zones? Please click this PRICELINE link before replying.
