Hotwire Hotel: May 12-15th with specific needs, please help!

I am traveling to Vegas on May 12th - so I need accomodations from 5/12 - 5/15 (checking out on the 15th).

Here's my deal - I am going to hang with friends who are staying at Caesar's Palace. They will be getting me a room key so that I can come and hang out with them at Caesar's whenever I want to - but since it's their anniversary trip, I won't be staying with them and definitely can't afford my own room at Caesars.

I want something really inexpensive, but am not interested in staying in a complete dump either. I was hoping I could figure out how to get a deal for a nice room somewhere within walking distance of Caesar's - or at the very least a fairly easy/ inexpensive cab ride from Caesars.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to get one of those great deals for under $100 (or less) per night, but would also be close to Caesars? It doesn't seem to me that Priceline will let me name my own price and also require that I be close to any particular intersection, and I'm afraid to take the chance and find out that I'm all the way down at Circus Circus or further. I've never used hotwire before, so I'm still figuring out how that works.

Anyway, ANY help would be appreciated. I'd LOVE to be in one of the nice strip hotels if I could fanagle a deal - but I don't know if that's something that can't be found for under $100. I saw something called Palace Station, but that's a bit too far - and I want to have access to my hotel fairly easily without spending a fortune on taxi's or hours on the bus system that always seems to run poorly. I know from my last visit there that there were a bunch of hotels on the side streets leading away from the strip - it seemed more to the east than to the west, though. So how can I find out which one to go to? And how can I get the best deal possible?

For $73/night 5/12-5/15, hotwire is quoting a 3* hotel with the following ammenities:

Casino

Restaurant(s)

Pool(s)

Fitness Center

Spa Services

From the list of hotels I saw on this site, it looks to be possibly Excalibur, although Excalibur also lists golf as an ammenity, which the listing on hotwire does not. Anyone have any idea if I'm right on this? If not, any ideas what hotel it is?

I am now starting to get the hang of it and it seems a lot of people are putting their dates in and asking for advice, so I'll do the same, if anyone has any ideas for me.

I want to be as close to Caesar's (my friends are staying there) as possible and would LOVE to be ON the strip. It seems as if some people are able to get rooms on the strip for under $100. What would the pro's here do if they were me? I'm young and want a cool type hotel: NY/NY looks like fun, so does Treasure Island or Paris or Venetian. The most important thing to me is a low price and that I can easily get to Caesar's where my friends are staying as we'll be hanging there most of the time.

Circus Circus isn't my first choice of hotels but for $87/nite it's within your budget and not too far from Circus Circus (i've walked it, although you wouldn't want to do it every time you head out)

Other than that i think you're going to have to give a little on price or location.

You could also consider SPLITTING YOUR PURCHASE although i think that will only help you for one nite of the three.
