Hotwire Hotel: Fort Lauderdale - best way to use hotwire

Hi, I am in need of a hotel for a pre-cruise in Fort Lauderdale on Jan 21, 2011. I see great information regarding hotels on this site but I am getting more confused as I read. The problem is that I am traveling with 20 people and need 6 rooms, 4 of them need to sleep 4 people. With the availablities of Hotwire I do not want to pay full price for a room.

So...what is the best way to do this???

-would it be best to book 6 rooms at the same time or 1 room at a time

-I noticed that the hotel amenities change if I input 2ad/2child vs just 2 adults - this is especially look at the 3* Hollywood Airport FLL

2/2 amenities =fitnes center/pool/business center/laundry/hs internet = $134 also same price for booking 6 rooms 12ad/6kids

2 amenities = suite/shuttle/non smoking/comp breakfast/fitness center/hs internet = $123

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

With HOTWIRE, I would definitely recommend booking all of the rooms at once, as if you try to book separately, there may be limited discount availability for a particular property and you would have to spread the group to multiple hotels. If you book all rooms together, you are assured of getting the same property. If you change the amount of people that you search for, you may also see different options.

If you search for more than 2 people in a room, then you are assured of bedding for the entire party. That is commonly 2 beds, but may be 1 + sofabed or other combination.

How many adults and how many children are in the party?

Thank you!!! This advice helps definitely. There are 14 adults and 6 kids in our party. We would have 3 rooms with 2 kids each and then the remaining rooms would be 2, 3 adults. So the best way would be to book rooms for the amount of people on hotwire.

Do you have any ideas on what the 3* FLL airport hotel with fitness center/pool/business center/laundry/internet - it is $145....Not sure if that is a good deal\\

Unfortunately, this property has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board (and may be a new hotel for the service, as it notes "We Are Still Gathering Reviews For This Property."

One other suggestion for this date (which looks rather busy in the area) would be the Hyatt Summerfield Suites FLL Airport South for $153 via Hotels.com, and that would be for Executive Suite rooms w/2 beds and free breakfast. If you use coupon code BEMERRY10, that takes an extra 10% off - $137.70. Less than the HOTWIRE deal, free breakfast, two beds in each (suite) room.

This Summerfield property gets very good reviews on tripadvisor.com Do look at the location to see if it will work well for your travel plans. Please use the site's Hotels.com link if you decide to go this route.
