Although I was trying to "catch" the Hilton, I think I did well with this bid.

If you're researching the area and trying to stay in a swank place, know that I searched high and low for a luxury hotel in Arlington or somewhere near it, but no luck. It's not a high-rent area, I guess. I grew up in the Metroplex and remember what a nightmare it was to drive anywhere, so I wanted to be close. If I weren't picky about location I would have tried one of the fancier places in Dallas or one of the resorts that are a little more removed.

For anyone visiting the area, I strongly suggest stopping by Cowboys Stadium. Even though I'm used to seeing oversized places in Texas, I could not have imagined how enormous the stadium is! I drove by it at night on my last trip and have been thinking about it ever since. I decided to take my husband on a tour of the stadium. I chose the VIP tour (as opposed to a self-guided tour) which includes all kinds of behind-the-scenes stuff, plus lets us walk around on our own. The $30 VIP tour seems a little "spendy" (as the Minnesotans around me say), but I can't wait to see the stadium from the inside!
