cashdmb21 Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 I bid from $180 all the way up to $355. Was trying for 4*, one night (12/11) in either MTE or MTW. Best I got was about a $20 savings to City Point Hotel. If I can get a nice room it'd be better savings. Should I have tried bidding another night or does waiting til last minute not help anything?
AaronJB Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Did you bid for $355 for a 4* for 12/11 only, and that was not accepted? HOTWIRE has a 4* for $269 for 12/11 only in MTE; surprising that nothing was accepted, as given the HOTWIRE rate for that date, one would expect PRICELINE to accept for some degree less than that. Please confirm what you've bid for so far and we would be happy to offer our thoughts.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
cashdmb21 Posted December 2, 2010 Author Report Posted December 2, 2010 I used your site's PRICELINE link and won a bid at $355. With taxes and fees I end up saving about $15. I've had success before though, saving around $200 for a 4* hotel in Boston. So I'm not sure what I should have done differently this time if anything. Thanks for any suggestions.

thereuare Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Thanks for the follow-up!This is an expensive nite in NYC and i think you could have done a little better if you were a bit more flexible on zones, but not sure of your plans and if you needed to only be in the MTE or MTW zones. The hotel does look nice and offers some nice amenities reserved only for hotel guests and club members.Enjoy your stay.
