nanci Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 I am so grateful for finding this site. You provide such a valuable service.I have never done this before. Could someone help me with the bidding? I would like MTW/CPS area 4 or 3.5, willing to pay 170 per night. Any tips would be appreciated. I follow the links on the board to get started, that's all I know as of now.......Thanks!! :)
thereuare Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding... we're glad you found us too! :)These dates are very expensive in NYC and i think your budget may be tough at either star level, but to give it a try, are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the above and we'll take it from there. nanci Posted December 1, 2010 Author Report Posted December 1, 2010 Thank you so much for your response. Now after researching the hotels, 3.5 and 3 are fine with me. We are doing Radio City, and shopping, Rockefeller. Maybe ice skating in CP. I can go to 200 night. thanks!!
thereuare Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 Did you want to start with a 3.5* up to your limit before trying the 3* level OR is the least expensive 3* or better what you're seeking? Also, note the Hudson Hotel would be a possible outcome in the CPS zone... this hotel typically gets ok reviews except for the notoriously small rooms (even by NYC standards). Would this property be an acceptable outcome? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. nanci Posted December 1, 2010 Author Report Posted December 1, 2010 Since we'll have our daughter with us, do I need to do something different to get room for 3 people? I'll try 200 for 3.5 for both zones then. Thanks.
thereuare Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 That changes things a bit...PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel. While you can call the hotel after you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to accommodate your request. This is especially true in NYC since there are a high percentage of rooms with only one bed, many of which can't accommodate a roll-away (many hotels don't even have them on hand) and rooms with two beds are sometimes considered an upgrade. For triple occupancy i would recommend HOTWIRE which allows you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensures sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search. HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than HOTWIRE, but in this instance, you'll be assured of accommodations for everyone in your family. If you do a HOTWIRE search for triple occupancy does anything appear within your desired budget and star rating? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. nanci Posted December 2, 2010 Author Report Posted December 2, 2010 Thank you so much, I will try HOTWIRE!!
