Hotwire Hotel: Booking 2 rooms?

Hi, i'm Kevin from Cologne / Germany.

We are doing a 4 day trip to Vegas in july 2011. We are 2 couples and need 2 rooms.

Last year we were in the Trump Hotel and really enjoyed it there. It would be available for around 90$ / night.

At Hotwire, i identified the Vdara for 119$ / night.

The problem is, that when i check the results for two rooms, the "Vdara" does not show up in the list any more.

When i research for only one room, it pops out again.

What is going on here?

Does the Vdara only offers one left room for my selected date or is it "Vdara/Hotwire policy" that i can not book 2 rooms simultaneous there.

Would it work, if i book the room two times in a row or is there a chance, that after booking one room, the Vdara does not show up again?

It would be amazing if anyone could give me a good advice how to proceed or has some experience dealing with this kind of problem...

The exactly date for my stay in 2011 is from 07/04/11 (Monday) to 07/08/11 (Friday), 4 people, two rooms.

The issue in this case is - unfortunately - most likely inventory. I'm seeing this listing for 1 room/2 adults, but seeing no listing in this spot when searching for 2 rooms (whether 2 rooms/2 or 2 rooms/4.) If you tried to book one room, I think there's a definite probability that another room will not be available.

Are you only looking for the Vdara, or are you interested in any North/South Strip 5*? What would be your desired budget per night?

The Trump is quite reasonable for these dates ($86 non-refundable regular rate on Expedia) if you would like to try another stay there. If you only need one bed per room, you could also try bidding on PRICELINE.

This property may not be offering two rooms in one purchase for these dates OR this may be the last room at this rate... there is no way to know if this same property will appear for the second purchase.

You could book this room at $119/nite, then search again to see if what you believe to be the same property offered again. If not, the Vdara is available directly on their website for $149/nite and you can purchase the second room there. (split the cost between the two rooms and you're only look at about an extra $10/nite per couple)

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. (or our Vdara link should you need to book an extra room directly with the hotel)

It schould definetely be a 5* place.

I'm quite open for any spot. Wynn & Vdara would be my #1 shots at the strip.

Trump is also good.

I don't want to stay at the Palazzo, so trying PRICELINE / North Strip could get worse for me.

This is a good idea.

I think i can try this.

Make a back-up booking on vdara.com, when it isnt possible to rebook on HOTWIRE.

Maybe it pops out again later on Hotwire for a better value!

Ok, up to now i didn't risk it.

So I just made a back-up booking for the new Cosmopolitan for 140$ / night (terrace suite, great deal so far)

I keep on looking for a better deal. Cancelling is possible...
