Priceline Hotel: 3.5* Seattle (Bellevue) Hilton

I have been trying to get a 4* hotel in Downtown Bellevue(Hyatt), I have used the past winning prices posted $75 to all the way up to $90 with no luck.

Is there a special event happening in Seattle/Bellevue area that's driving the prices up? I would think this would be low season due to the weather.

Also haven't had any luck with 3.5* hotels in Belelvue up to $60, will keep on trying.

Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

There are only two known hotels at each of these star levels in this zone, so there just isn't a large number of hotels available to accept your bid. While it may be low season, there also isn't that much competition from other properties, and therefore hotels may not feel the need to discount to heavily. As well, since there are only a handful of hotels which could possibly accept your bid, special events (conferences, weddings, meetings, etc) can quickly take a large number of rooms and put the hotel in a situation of not needing to offer/discount rooms to the opaque suppliers.

What is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel thru conventional booking channels? Do you specifically need to be in Bellevue, as it appears you may be able to do a little better in the Downtown-Pike Place zone, if that should work for your needs as well.

I think I will give Downtown - Pike Place a try if I am still able to score a decent deal in Bellevue in a couple of days. The reason I liked Bellevue is because I will be driving down from Vancouver, BC, and I liked the fact parking in Bellevue hotels are complimentary while in downtown Seattle it is $~30 per night. Thanks, I have been using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for my bookings :)

FYI, some of the hotels in Bellevue do charge for parking, but even if you land a hotel with free parking, at the moment it looks like a hotel room Downtown may cost you less then the equivalent hotel in Bellevue, so compute the room rate difference, and the cost of commuting (or parking if you drive to Downtown) and i'd sooner take the convenience of downtown. Also, you could also drop off your bags at a Downtown hotel, park at a Park N Ride outside the city (Bellevue, Issaquah, etc) and take the bus into the city for the duration of your stay... returning just to pick it up at the end of your trip.

Originbally wanted Bellevue Hyatt, bidded up to $90, included 3.5*, bidded $70 and counter-offered 90, re-bidded and won at $78. Used the betterbidding pricelne link.

Looking forward to our stay :)

Does anyone know if there are many free wi-fi hotspots in Bellevue or Seattle? The hotel charges $10 / night for internet access which I consider quite steep.

There are PLENTY of hotspots in both Seattle and Bellevue...

First is almost all Starbuck locations (literally everywhere in the Seattle area) offer free wi-fi.

Specifically in Bellevue, the library has excellent hi-speed access and there is a very nice Safeway supermarket which offers free internet 'after hours' (i think they only close from like 1am-5am) although i found the reliability there to be a bit spotty.

Enjoy your stay.
