griplynch Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 looking for a four star upper west side for dec 19 to 26. anyone had any luck on thse dates ?
AaronJB Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)You can find wins reported to the board in the site's Calendar of Wins section. What would be your desired budget per night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
AaronJB Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Do you need to be in this particular area only? I ask because bidding for a four star in this area is largely only trying for one hotel - the Empire - which may or may not have any PRICELINE inventory for these dates. Opening up to other zones may increase the odds and possibly result in a lower price for a comparable hotel. If you were to bid for a 4* in USW for these dates, I'd start at $125 and work higher by $5's.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
griplynch Posted November 10, 2010 Author Report Posted November 10, 2010 thats exactly the hotel im trying for . ive gotten it for 161 last dec 19 -26 and also in may at 164 . maybe prices have increased ?
thereuare Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 NYC prices are generally higher this year vs. last year, but rates for these dates are not that expensive. However, you're bidding for a one week stay, and if even just one nite of these dates has no PRICELINE availability then it's impossible for your win to get accepted. It's not clear from your post... have you already tried bidding? I do see 4* hotels in other (well located) parts of the city for less than $170/nite, are you open to other areas only want to try to target the Empire hotel? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. griplynch Posted November 12, 2010 Author Report Posted November 12, 2010 i am trying to book the empire only at this time . ive stayed there twice as its close to all my activities there . i began bidding over a month ago . i saw some winning bids at 200 for uws but was trying to stay well below that and to spend the savings on an upgrade . ill just stay patient . i currently have a pay when u stay reserved at the time hotel for 161 . ive stayed there before and its not to bad . my best memories are at the empire though .
