letournerie Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Hi,I'm new to this and I am wondering if, in our situation, we can use hotwire or priceline bidding. What we need is 3 nights in Feb 2012 (22 to 25 Feb). We want a 4* hotel located in Mid Town. We need 2 rooms, one for 2 adults and one for 1 adult and 2 teens (17 and 14 in 2012).What is the best way to find what we want and how long in advance can we start bidding?Thanx!
thereuare Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, so there would be a risk in using their service given that you need at least one room with more than double occupancy. While this may be an acceptable risk in some cities (such as Orlando) that are family friendly, used to accommodating families in one room and therefore have a large percentage of rooms with more than one bed... the risk goes up dramatically in NYC which has a very high percentage of rooms with only one bed.HOTWIRE would still be an option, and likely a better one in this instance, as you can search for up to quad occupancy per each room, ensuring sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search. However, note that the second 'bed' could be a rollaway brought into the room, a pullout sofabed, etc.You can begin bidding 330 days in advance of your stay. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
