nickshep Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 My buddies and I will be staying AC for one night Friday 12/17. I'd appreciate some help developing a strategy for this trip. Ideally I'd like to spend as little as possible ($40-70). Looking at Hotwire today, I see prices ranging from $63 for 3 1/2 stars to $92 for 4 stars.Ideally I would like to land one of the following (in order):HarrahsCaesarsTrump PlazaChelsea HotelHere's the catch - if possible I'd like to aviod the Sheraton Convention Center at all cost; however, I believe the 3.5 star hotel for $63 showing on Hotwire is the Sheraton (smoke free, fitness, pool, dining, biz center, and high speed internet). We'll likely spend most of our time at the Borgata, but will spend the later hours at the hotel where we will be sleeping.
AaronJB Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 There is no way to avoid a particular property when using PRICELINE. The Sheraton was last reported as a 3.5* on PRICELINE, so that would limit you to 4*.Additionally, PRICELINE only guarantees 1 bed/double occupancy; how many are in the party? If more than 2, then HOTWIRE may be a better option for this stay.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

nickshep Posted November 27, 2010 Author Report Posted November 27, 2010 There will likely only be two in my room. If the other two decide to stay, they're on their own or limited to the floor. :)I guess I'll stick to 4 star bidding and see if I can land something. If I haven't by 12/14, I'll move it down to 3 1/2. Does the price range look realistic for Friday night 4 star in AC?
thereuare Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Can't say if $70 will be enough or not... the 4* you're seeing on HOTWIRE (Beachfront, Smoke Free, Pool, Restaurant) is likely the Chelsea, which is only 3.5* rated on PRICELINE.If you want to try bidding for a 4* you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Atlantic City...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
