Priceline Hotel: need tips - 4* in Las Vegas Strip Vicinity South ou North

I m going to Vegas in march 2011 (2/3/11 - 3/7/11) and i saw in betterbidding that some friends get rates at $55/night.

I need some help to do the bids to get this rate in 4* hotels.

Some Hotels of my interesting

Hard Rock

Planet Hollywood

MGM

Please Help me with areas too.

Rates at $55 on the strip will likely be difficult for dates which include a weekend such as yours above... is $55 your maximum bid? (NOTE: you mention the Hard Rock but that is not located on the Strip and not in the Strip North or Strip South zones you've indicated in your topic title)

Also, the Westin is in PRICELINE's Strip South zone but not located directly on the strip, would this be an acceptable outcome?

in your experience, how much u think i can get in this 2 areas in that time? Maybe i can pay a little more. But not too much.

For me i prefer, planet hollywood, mgm, mirage, paris, because the location. I saw a won bid here on Treasure Island for $55. Maybe the problem is the date.

The 'sweet spot' in my opinion for these dates is a 5* hotel on the stip for ~$100-$110/nite... a 4* isn't likely to be much cheaper, maybe $90-$100 at this point in time.

Rates in Vegas are very much date specific, and a 4* on the Strip at $55 is not usually a realistic expectation for dates which include weekends, except at the very slowest of times. I'm guessing the $55 rates that you're seeing are for midweek nites and/or during periods of low occupancy.
