Bid of $44 at 4* level was rejected; also rejected at 3*.

Next day, bid of $48 at 4* was rejected; when lowered to 3* bid was accepted. Final price with taxes: $58.38 per night.

I'd been "upgraded" to the 3.5* Millennium which I was trying to avoid (that was the reason I rebid at 3* rather than 3.5*). The Millennium is a bit of a dump and there is no way that hotel should be ranked at 3.5* (2.5* is probably generous). This is one of the first times I've been upset with Priceline. Actually the Millennium isn't THAT bad at $48 but I would have been furious if I'd paid the full 3.5* market price for that hotel.
