Now for a review. The location is just across the river from N Michigan Ave/Mag Mile. There are many stores and restaurants within walking distance, weather permitting. It was snowing and cold when I was there so I took taxis most of the time. Speaking of taxis there was at least one taxi waiting on a side street any time of the day or nite. The hotel staff would simply blow a whistle and the taxi would pull up to the hotel entrance. This was very convenient. All staff members that I spoke to were friendly and courteous.

As for the room, a friend upgraded us to the Club Level which required using a room key on the elevator to access the upper floors of the hotel. Our room was located in the West Wing of the Hotel. This also allowed us access to the club lounge which served breakfast, afternoon snacks, evening appetizers, and dessert. The club also had an "honor bar" which meant you mix your own drink for five dollars!! Unfortunately I discovered this on the last nite of my stay. The room was very stylish and clean. The bed was not as comfortable as I hoped but the pillows were comfortable. Also the sound insulation was very poor and I could hear water running, doors closing, etc from the room next door. My major complaint is that the elevators were very, very SLOW. There were several occassions where myself and others had to wait for at least 5 minutes for an elevator. This seems strange to me being that there were six elevators. Also there were two conventions while I was there and the hotel certainly has a business feel to it and I imagine it can be very crowded during peak convention times (whenever that is).

Overall I would recommend this hotel based on the location and staff.
