The Duke Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 Hi everyone, been a big visitor to this site and I have always been able to know my hotels before hand from using this board (and yes I make sure to use the HOTWIRE link :))I have absolutely no idea what these hotels are though and hope someone can help ID these.Check In: Jan 16Check Out: Jan 202 Adult------4* Mag. Mile - $79 - 90% Approval- Fitness - Rest. - Business - Highspeed Int.4* North Mich. - $79 - 95% Approval- NonSmoke - Fitness - Rest. - Business - Highspeed Int.------There seems to be many options for both. Anyone know what these two are? Will make sure to use the betterbidding link & post the result after I confirm my reservation. Thanks for the help! :)
AaronJB Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)These days is that they are among the slowest of the year. While HOTWIRE offers good deals, there is often a "floor" where hotels may not discount below, and on a slow period, the spread between discount rates and regular rate may not be as steep. The 4* Mag Mile amenity set has been seen with the Hard Rock, Sheraton, Westin River North, Hyatt and - infrequently - the Swiss.A 4* NMA with restaurant, business, fitness and internet has been seen with the Drake, Westin MA, Allerton, Knickerbocker, Avenue and Sutton Place. My guess is that it is one of these listings with a previously unseen smoke-free - the Westin, Drake and Avenue would seem like good possibilities out of that bunch. However,If you search for 2 adults/2 children, there is a 4* w/Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa for $89. This would likely be the W Lakeshore; if you are looking for a trendy boutique, this would be a good choice. While a bit more expensive at $109 (and ORBITZ5 is a coupon that should take 5% off), The Embassy Suites Lakefront would offer breakfast and evening reception.Other regular rate suggestions (and Expedia coupon code FESTIVE10 should take $10 off per night.) Hotel Sax ($110, Expedia), Wyndham ($94, Expedia), Hilton Suites ($99, Expedia.)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE or Expedia or Orbitz links to start your purchases and searches.
The Duke Posted November 18, 2010 Author Report Posted November 18, 2010 Ended up deciding to take a chance with the Mag. Mile 4* for $79 and got the Hark Rock Hotel Chicago. Thanks for your help!
AaronJB Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 Congrats on your success. :)Fantastic deal for the Hard Rock, which hasn't been seen in quite a while. If you're looking for pizza, there's a Giordano's at 135 E Lake about a block or so away; that location - while there are exceptions - is generally not AS busy as some of the others.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
