ktis Posted November 18, 2010 Author Report Posted November 18, 2010 Two quick cents and wondering what you come up with... The 4-star North property might be the Sheraton Gunter (?) however at $20/night more expensive than others have concluded over X-Mas dates (per other thread on Riverfront options)... Does that make sense or could it be another facility? More confident projection on the 4-star South Riverfront property, esp. considering the "Spa" feature: The Contessa... no? However, again, Hotwire prices do not appear comparable to the other dates' prices others have posted herein... could it be that Jan 11-14 is such a distinct week? there's a big discrepancy on the Contessa of appx $50 b't earlier "hits/wins" and this Jan date... Recommendations? Pull the trigger on these or endeavor more... and clarifications on the 3-star ones as well might ease the decision-making on our end!Overall, is it better to wait a few more days to see if they drop or as we pass the holidays they will actually increase from your experience? Thanks again everyone!
thereuare Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 Based upon a recent win by another user, i'd guess the 4* Riverwalk North property is the Omni more so than the Sheraton.Best guess for the others:4* Riverwalk South - Hotel Contessa OR Marriott Plaza3* Riverwalk North - The Crockett Hotel3* Riverwalk South - Hyatt Place Downtown-Riverwalk Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. ktis Posted November 20, 2010 Author Report Posted November 20, 2010 OK, folks one more to plug-in, here's the conclusion:Priceline -- after all, and pls lmk if we need to move this to a different forum -- successful bid @ $85/night for this four-star property:Omni La Mansion Del RioI am not sure if one can land a bid at $80 (the lowest Priceline allows you to bid for 4-stars at that locale and date), but worth a few tries. It is definitely the lowest I could find after quite some time, and Hotwire still gives a 4-star site at $99... Looks good. Thanks for the solid service and keep up the deals hunt!
