I won this property after bidding for 3* and getting rejected at $42.00 but receiving a counter offer of $57.00. I closed the browser and re-logged in and using a free rebid (Winter Park) for what I thought was 3* property (in same area) but ended up winning this 3.5 star property for $49.00 ($62.85) total. Not sure if I checked the wrong box or if Priceline upgraded me?

Anyway I am very pleased with the results as TA gives it a 4.5 star rating and 93% recommendation. Cheapest website rate was $90.00

I used the links on this website for both my search and win on PRICELINE.

I just looked at the "My Trips" section of my PRICELINE account and I found out I was upgraded to a 3.5 star hotel. I had no idea that PRICELINE did that. In fact, I was purposely trying to avoid the 3.5 star hotels in that area because there are a few reported ones at that level that I wanted to avoid.

I've used PRICELINE for a few years and never had that happen to me.

Learn something new everyday.

I got lucky.

It doesn't happen all the time, but occasionally the service will bump up to the next star level. Glad to hear that in this case you lucked out and are still pleased with the result.
