Hotwire Hotel: help with NYC hotel dec 5-dec11

I know this is a busy period, one of the most expensive as far as i can tell with all my research.

But at the moment, i would like to set a budget of 300 for 4*- i'm not too fussy with the area as long as there is transport available. but my zones of preference are definitely:

-downtown-soho

-chelsea

-MSG

-MTE

-MTW

i think i've tried 320 with no avail so far? is setting this budget being unrealistic?

Have you only bid the zones above or are have you included other Manhattan areas?

HOTWIRE has 4* hotels starting at just over your budget in the $329-$339 range, so i don't think you're $300 maximum is too far off the mark.

Also, for these prices would they be considered good value considering the time period?
