I just wanted to share my winning bid (after so many iterations)

Result

Dec 8-13, midtown west, novotel 325/night, 3 star

About 60 bucks less per night off the hotel website. Since I'm staying 5 nights, that's not too bad.

bids

i did all combinations of times square/theatre, and times square/theatre with midtown west starting at $175 and 4 star, gradually dropping stars to 3 stars.

I then increased the price by $25 and went at it again.

ie, $200 4 star

$200 3.5 star

$200 3 star

$225 4 star

$250 3.5 star

$250 3 star

.

.

I read from others that there is a time period that you have to wait to up your bid, I didn't really have that problem though (unless I am misunderstanding). I would do my rotation of one price and decreasing stars, close my browser and do it again. I did not save a priceline profile so I had to enter in my info for each round.
