Priceline Hotel: NYC 4* Hotel - $155 got rejected

Hi,

I am looking for a 4* hotel in UES, UWS, CPS, Chelsea for Mar 27th - Apr 2nd 2011. I bid starting from $110 to $155 and got rejected. I saw that someone got Le Parker Meridien (CPS) for $115 for the same date. I am not sure why? Am I too late? What do you recommend I do?

Also, I would have loved to bid for SoHo but Priceline's zones are Soho plus Financial District together and i can't risk getting a hotel in FD as it will be too far south. Any thoughts on this?

Is this the Priceline Hotel Win you're referring to for which rates overlap your own... but do not have identical check-in and/or check-out dates?

I'm not sure if the $105/$115 rate would still be available, but is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

Are these the only zones you're willing to accept? Are you familiar with NYC and/or is there a specific reason why you chose the above zones and have not included the midtown zones which are bid most frequently?

I even tried splitting my dates (Mar 27 - 30 and Mar 30 - April 2) for $150 and got rejected as well :)

I try to stay away from Times Square area and Financial district is too far.

Uptown or Soho/Tribeca would be ideal.

Is it better to wait more close to the date? Perhaps hotels will release more inventory?

While you may ultimately need to bid higher for these dates, i think it's a bit early to increase your bid too much higher and/or split your bid. For additional info as far as when to bid, see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.

What about the MTE, Chelsea, and/or ESB zones?
