a330300
I mistakenly selected the 2* button instead of the 2.5 so I ended up overbidding by $4 (according to the tax rate) for this Fairfield Inn.Fairfield Inn Greenville Check-In Date: Wednesday, August 13, 2003 Check-Out Date: Thursday, August 14, 2003 Greenville60 Roper Mountain Road Greenville, South Carolina 29607 864-297-9996Your Offer Price: $28.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $28.00 Taxes andService Fees: $8.36 Total Charges: $36.36 Link to comment
thereuare
Are you deducting $5.95 from the 'Taxes and Fees' in order to figure out the taxes on the bid, and then dividing that number by the tax rate?If so, it doesn't appear that Priceline is using $5.95 as the fixed fee anymore, and the fee is variable, based upon your bid amount. To test this theory, compare what happens to the 'taxes and fees' amount if you change your bid amount (for the same area and zone) from 'x' to 'x+5'.... you'll probably see the 'taxes and fees' amount increase. Are you using some other method or have any other insight into Priceline new methodology for figuring out the taxes and fees? Thanks!
