Please suggest a bidding strategy for me.

11/20 &21. 2 Nights for a 3 star in Roanoke, VA

also, 11/25 & 26 For Fairfax, VA, Also prefer a 3* or better

I could also stay in Arlington for 11/25,26 if my chances are better.

Where should I start my bidding, and what strategy should I employ?

I am hoping to find a room for around 50$ a night. I realize I may have to go higher since it's a Holiday, so I am somewhat flexible. If I can't get something for 50$ I will try a 2.5* in Fairfax.

Very pleased with this outcome.

In Roanoke no luck so far. I am up to 55$ but no win for a 3* in ROANOKE TANGLEWOOD OR ROANOKE NORTH

I used the link you suggested and the rebid zones of Salem and Troutville.

Any advice on how to proceed would be appreciated. I will take a look at HOTWIRE, and maybe continue bidding after 24 hours?

any advice on ROANOKE? I do see that there is a half marathon in Roanoke on the 20th, is it possible that is why I haven 't been successful?

HOTWIRE has a 3* hotel for $59/nite which i'm guessing is the Holiday Inn Valley View. This hotel has a good 95% recommended by HOTWIRE users and a good 4.0/5.0 Tripadvisor review... but is only rated 2* by PRICELINE. Any interest in this property?

An update on my trip

I bit the bullet and splurged on Cambria Suites in Roanoke, if you're interested I got it for 92$ and 102$ for the 2 nights, Sat and Sunday. Not as frugal as going with the sites, but not a bad deal for this new suite hotel.
